Hello everyone, Nolan Mackey here with Standard Fluids. Welcome to another droplet of information. Are you ready for more cool science tricks that show you just how fast and effective our fire suppression fluid is? Well, here you go. In this episode, a tiny amount of our SF-1230 fire protection fluid makes a big impact. As you can see, there are four compartments with pass-through holes between them. Their tops are open.
There are three lit candles and an electrical arcing device in the farthest compartment. A bubbler converts a small amount of SF1230 from a fluid into a gas. As the SF1230 gas is introduced into the first compartment, it quickly extinguishes the first flame and then the next two as it passes through each opening. Finally, it interrupts the arc in the last compartment. Notice how the arc initiates each time the arcing device is removed from the protected compartment.
When reintroduced to SF1230, it stops again. Pretty cool, right? Got questions? We’ve got answers. Visit StandardFluids.com or give us a call at 888-322-1248.
