Hello everyone, Kelvin Cabrera here with Standard Fluids. Welcome to another droplet of information. We’re excited to show you some cool, geeky science tricks that show you just how fast and effective our fire suppression fluid is. In this episode, our SF 1230™ Fire Protection Fluid is making some magic. How does a bubble float in an empty container? Take a look. Here, our first soap bubble is released from a syringe and drops to the bottom of the container.
Now, we pour a small amount of SF 1230 fluid into the bottom of the container, and the bubble floats above the fluid. Why? Because SF 1230 vapor created from the fluid is heavier than air, and suspends the bubble. This is important in fire protection because once discharged SF 1230 quickly covers the entire protected space, offering safe, sustainable fire suppression, protecting people, property and the environment. Got questions? We’ve got answers!
