John Mackey, is founder and CEO of The Mackey Group, an advisory firm specializing in mergers and acquisitions strategy and processes, growth strategy development, and new technology implementation across the fire and life safety industry. John has more than seventeen years in the industry and has worked in several senior leader roles while at ANSUL, Tyco Fire Products, and The Hiller Companies. Key accomplishments include:

Transitioned from ANSUL, Director of Human Resources to Director of Integration where he led the global merger of Tyco’s Fire Products businesses, creating a $1.2B enterprise.

Led US Regional Sales team while building a $145MM portfolio under the new integrated model.

While at Hiller, led M&A Strategy and post-close Integration as well as transforming Hiller’s Revenue mix and Service Operations. John was instrumental in helping Hiller grow more than 120% through his tenure.

He has a strong people-first, collaborative approach in building teams and leading companies. John is very active in many aspects of the FLS industry. He currently serves in advisory and committee roles for National Association of Fire Equipment Distributors (NAFED) and the Fire Suppression Systems Association (FSSA). John, was born and raised in Chicago, is a US Navy Veteran. He and his wife of 30 years, Carrie, have dragged their three children across the US to build a nice career. John and Carrie reside in Fairhope, AL.
