Offer SF 1230 fluid to your customers and provide a quality solution from people you can trust.

What is SF 1230™ Fire Protection Fluid?

SF 1230 fluid is a clean agent fire extinguishant. It was originally developed as a halon replacement and hydrofluorocarbon (HFC) alternative. As a fluoroketone it belongs to a family of chemicals called halocarbons like HFCs.

SF 1230 fluid has a global warming potential (GWP) of less than one while other common HFC chemical clean agents have a GWP of more than 3000. What does this mean for consumers? It means that SF 1230 fluid is the safest clean agent fluid for human occupancy even when compared to inert gas.

.Clean Agent Fire Suppression with Staying Power

The importance of effective and efficient fire suppression is critical. Determining the best system for your application can mean the difference between the survival of your people and property and their total loss. Even minimal damage can cause downtime and significant revenue loss. Choosing SF 1230™ Fire Protection Fluid provides a solution that:

  • efficiently and effectively extinguishes, often before it even starts and well before water-based systems discharge.
  • protect documents, data centers and electronics. SF 1230 fluid is a waterless fire suppression solution. It leaves no residue and is electrically non-conductive.
  • are safe for humans. SF 1230 fluid, compared to any other clean agent solution under the NFPA 2001 standard, provides the widest margin of safety for human occupancy.
  • is not subject to the HFC phasedown in the U.S. under the AIM Act and ISO 14520 standards
  • not subject to the HFC phasedown under the F-Gas regulation in Europe or under the global Montreal Protocol.
  • is stored as a liquid and discharged as a gas.
  • is appropriate for Class A, B and C fire hazards.

SF 1230™ Fire Protection Fluid at a Glance

How does SF 1230 fluid work?

SF 1230 fluid quickly removes heat, extinguishing the fire before it starts. As opposed to a gaseous total flooding system, the SF 1230 fluid is stored as a liquid in cylinders, is pressurized with nitrogen and released when activated by automatic sensors when the fire is at the incipient stage. The fire is extinguished in seconds.

SF 1230 fluid evaporates 50 times faster than water and is non-conductive, meaning that when it is discharged, it will extinguish the fire without damaging even the most sensitive electronics.
